Our new article has been published in Cognitive Development. The study shows that gestures can support memory for spoken information, with the benefit of semantically congruent gestures becoming clearly evident by around nine years of age. The findings suggest that gesture and speech are increasingly integrated into a shared memory representation during middle childhood.
